Greg Mixon

Upon graduating from law school in 2000, Greg Mixon went to work for Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C., a 200+ lawyer firm based in Birmingham, where he worked in both the firm’s corporate/mergers and acquisitions group and real estate/commercial lending group.  He focused on transactions, general corporate matters and real estate matters, representing banks, private equity groups, and high-growth local and regional companies to address issues related to corporate structures, debt and equity relationships and all forms of purchase/sale/joint venture transactions.

In 2006, Greg accepted an in-house position with one of the firm’s clients, a broadcast development firm focused on radio transactions.  He supervised and conducted the company’s business and legal negotiations (including the purchase and sale of numerous radio stations and radio companies all over the country) and oversaw the day-to-day activities of the company.  He also spent considerable time managing the company’s various financial relationships, including private equity, hedge fund and more traditional debt-based relationships.

In 2012, Greg returned to private practice, benefitting from the experiences gained both in practicing law in a large firm environment and in operating a lucrative small business.  In a short time, Greg has built a substantial general counsel, corporate and transactional practice with some of Birmingham’s most successful entrepreneurs and with some of the region’s most successful companies.  As the founder and managing member of the firm, Greg’s extensive experience in a wide range of business and real estate ventures has helped build an impressive list of satisfied clients who all share an appreciation for the tenacity, practicality and creativity he brings to every transaction and business matter.

Greg is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Birmingham Venture Club.  He is the founder and chairman of Clerestory, Inc., a Birmingham-based non-profit.  Greg and his family are members of Urban Hope Community Church
